POUGHKEEPSIE NY
The Cast Iron Building 1:45 scale model was built as a tribute to its 150th anniversary, as it joins the exclusive club of historic Poughkeepsie buildings. After six months of production time, and overcoming several design challenges, we were proud to present the model to the building’s owner. The final model uses 38,672 pieces and weighs 109 lbs, not including its wooden base platform. Close to half of the final part count comes from the dark orange plates that make up the model’s brick exterior. Almost 50lbs of the final weight comes from the model’s internal structure of standard bricks and technic parts. These pieces are latticed to distribute weight and cause the least amount of stress on the exterior parts.
